After studying fine art Matt enjoyed a successful 12-year career in marketing and advertising working on prominent brands and garnering national awards along the way.

Now fast forward to the good parts.

In September 2004, his world was turned upside down by something as simple as a dream–a dream about the ending of abortion. Like many in the Western Church Matt rarely thought about or talked about such a politically-charged topic. It seemed outside the mainstream and was probably best left to others who knew more about it or had a penchant for political speak. However, the dream haunted him with vivid imagery placing abortion right in the middle of a raucous prayer meeting in a room filled with young people.

Come to find out, Matt had just dreamed what Lou Engle and a group of young people had launched out to DC to do that very month–to start a house of prayer on Capitol Hill contending in prayer for the ending of abortion. It took a few months, but Matt, his wife and four kids sold everything and moved to DC as missionaries. Bye bye paycheck. Bye bye life as usual.

Revival history teaches us that Charles Finney unapologetically married the message of abolition with the tent revival and pursued young people as the keepers of the future. That activity led to what is known as the Second Great Awakening. Once again God is capturing the hearts of a young generation with the messages of consecration, holiness and LIFE. Massive revival is inevitable, but the nation is in crisis facing consequences and spiritual ramifications far greater than anyone imagines. Matt is throwing himself wholeheartedly into the work of raising up a generation of volunteers that believe history belongs to the intercessor.

Today Matt is the Executive Director of the Justice House of Prayer DC and Bound4LIFE, the international prayer movement that has grown out of it. He is committed to mobilizing and equipping a grassroots movement made up of everyday people that want to minister to the heart of God and change history along the way.
